Ingredients
Method
Meat Sauce
- Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
- Add the ground beef to the pan and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Assembling the Lasagna
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Spread a thin layer of meat sauce at the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Place a layer of lasagna noodles over the sauce. Add another layer of meat sauce, followed by a sprinkle of dairy-free mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of noodles topped with meat sauce and a generous sprinkle of dairy-free mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let the lasagna sit for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to the meat sauce. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
